Isles Place DP On Waivers

On February 22nd, The New York Islanders placed Rick DiPietro on waivers.  The reason mentioned by the organization was so he could revive his game and possibly regain his NHL all-star form.  Realisitically, there is little to no hope that will happen or that he will ever play for the Islanders again.

In August, I wrote an article examining the man, the player and his struggles throughout his once promising, turned injury plagued career.

For what its worth, I'd like to thank Rick DiPietro for all he was able to do, and what he tried to do for the Islanders.  No one can take that away from him.
