The Good, Bad and The Ugly, Part 1




Forwards: Moulson-Tavares-Parenteau; Grabner-Nielsen-Okposo; Martin-Cizikas-Rolston; Pandolfo-Reasoner-Niederreiter.

Defensemen: Streit-Staios; Hamonic-MacDonald; Eaton-Jurcina.

Evgeni Nabokov in goal with Montoya backing up.

Per Arthur Staple, Nabokov in goal, Hamonic in, Cizikas centering Rolston and Martin; Bailey (back spasms) out for Isles vs Rangers.

Mike Mottau has been activated from the IR.

Islanders recall David Ullstrom recalled from Bridgeport.

The Rangers out shot the Islanders 36-27.

Evgeni Nabokov made 33 saves on 36 shots with a .917Sv%.

The Islanders came out hard and battles with the first place New York Rangers throughout the game.  Right up to the final minutes of the third period, they battled and matched the Rangers in every way.  After a closely contested O.T., Frans Nielsen and Matt Moulson scored in the shootout to seal the win for the Isles.  The Isles won by the score of 4-3 in the shoot out.

Overall, it was a good effort by the Islanders.

P.A. Parenteau has 7 and 8 for 13 points in 11 games against the Rangers.

Parenteau named 1st star with 2 goals and John Tavares was named 3rd star with 2 assists.
