KoC: 2013 Playoffs - Round 3 Wrap-Up, Round 4 Stanley Cup Preview

Stanley Cup Playoffs Conference Finals, Round 3 Matchups:

1. Chicago vs. 5. Kings                                               1. Pittsburgh vs. 4. Boston

Chicago in 6   Chi! in 5                                              Boston in 7      Bos! in 4

The Conference finals were great to watch, but so bizarre to experience.  I scored a 1.0 of 2 in round 3.  Then again, I dont know many people who nailed each series in 5 and 4 games respectively.

In the West, while I expected a Chicago win, I didn't expect a continued no show by Brown & Kopitar, nor did I expect Quick to be made mortal so quickly.  Chicago did start the season on fire and they are built to win, so they showed their pedigree and Corey Crawford showed he means business.

In the East, I knew the Bruins were experienced, talented and tough, but I didn't think they would dismantle a Penguin franchise to the level that roster chances seem mandatory and their Coaches job might not be safe.  Pittsburgh was out coached, outplayed and out-disciplined by Boston and crushed in 4 games to none.  While they were in two of the games, Boston really controlled play, shut down their offense and made their defense look patchwork.  I really feel they took a page ot of the Isles playbook, but had more experience, size and talent so they got the job done.
