Your New York Islanders clinched a playoff
spot last night with a 4-2 Boston Bruins loss to the Florida Panthers. Former
Islander, Brad Boyes' scored the game winning goal for the Panthers.
Business resumes tonight in Pittsburgh and
then Saturday at home against Columbus to see where the Isles will be slotted, if they can capture home ice advantage and who their opponent will be.
The Islanders can face Washington, the
Rangers, Montreal or Tampa Bay. They cannot face the Penguins, Red Wings,
Ottawa or Boston. Of the remaining teams in the east, Pittsburgh, Ottawa or Boston, two will make it into the post season.
