Your New York Islanders were shut out for the second game in a row. This time, it was by the Nashville Predators on Sunday night
by the score of 2-0 (Losing 3-0 to NJ on Saturday). Anders Nilsson (23/25 .920Sv%) played the entire game pretty well for New
York. “I thought it
went okay,” Nilsson said. “It’s good to get back in the flow and play a full
game from the start. I’m pretty happy with the way it went, I thought the team
played a good game in front of me," per islanders.nhl.com. The Islanders will need even and PP goal support to win games consistently.
Although the game wasn't available on television
or streamed live on the internet, I was able to get the following details from the contest. Peter Regin (5), Ryan Strome (3) and
Pierre-Marc Bouchard (3) led the Islanders on shots. The Islanders were 0/2 on the PP and killed 3/3 PP opportunities
for Nashville with strong positioning and a good forecheck. They won 23/49 face-offs and blocked 16 shots
against. The Predators scored twice in
the second period and kept the limited Isles roster off the scoreboard behind
Pekke Rinne and Carter Hutton.
