Isles Notes:
The New York Islanders placed 5 players on waivers today for the purposes of sending them down to Bridgeport of the AHL. The players involved were Forwards, Marcinko, Frischmon and Wallace along with Defensemen Wishart and Reese.
Islanders will Honor the fan favorite 1992-93 Team on October 29 vs. the San Jose Sharks. Isles alumni from that team that will be present include Pierre Turgeon, Steve Thomas, Benoit Hogue & Patrick Flatley.

According to a statement released by the NHL today, Player numbers will be added to the front forehead (centered) location of all player helmets at the start of this season. The new number placement is designed to aid on-ice officials, broadcasters, et al. by providing an additional point of player identification.
